Gavan Young, Age 25
I was born in New Haven, Ct and moved to Wilmington, DE when I was 2
years old. I now reside in beautiful Chapel Hill, NC. (Duke and State
fans need look elsewhere)
My parents introduced me to the world of off-roading at the ripe old age
of -9 months. My poor mother commuted to work in a 1975 CJ-5 while she
was pregnant with me. I have been told that was the start of my Jeep
obsessions.
My first Jeep was a 1986 Jeep CJ-7 I got when I graduated high school.
Shortly after came the prerequisite modifications and after going
through 3 engines, 2 transmissions and a couple of axles I decided to
get serious. The Jeep is still under construction.
I have been building and modifying vehicles since college when I helped
with the SAE car, a F1 style car with a sportbike engine. I have also
assisted with the fabrication of 2 Unlimited class crawlers.
While I have always been happy wrenching and fabricating, I am very
excited to be spotting for Aaron this season.
Personal Garage : 3/4 of a Jeep CJ-7 (hopefully it will be done soon!),
a 1999 F-250 diesel for towing and a 1992 Mazda Miata (come on - its a
cheap, fun commuter car!)
