My 1st jeep was purchased as Christmas present for a girlfriend who has since become my wife, and mother of my son Chris Jr. whom I call Boy. In 1988 I traded the 1981 Jeep for a 1985, and started the buildup in 1991 for general wheeling the Jersey Pines. Starting a business and family life put wheeling on hold for four years. After reading an article in Petersons magazine, highlighting the Smokey Mountains, with members from Iron In The Pines, I had my friend Jim Hand rebuild the jeep to tackle the Smokey Mountain. About five years ago I became a seasonal camper at Red Ridge Lake Campground, so I could wheel the mountains every weekend.
I soon learned about rock crawling events and became a judge for NEUROC at Paragon Adventure Park. The friends I go wheeling with look to me to spot them thru some hard terrain. My good friend Kurt Shramovich, seeing this potential, asked me to be his spotter in competition. And I gladly excepted this fun task to make him the best.
