I got my start in off-roading at an early age working around my family’s Christmas tree farm. Quickly, I went from driving tractors to driving Jeeps around the fields. As soon as I got my license I started driving a 1987 Wrangler Sahara to and from school every day. It was a few years and after college when I really became involved in organized offroad trips.
In 2000 I joined a small offroad club, East Coast 4x4 Experience. I started frequenting Paragon on a regular basis both with the club and for monthly rides. In the summer of 2002 I teamed up with Chris Steinberg and spotted for him in the first ever NEUROC event. We did not do as well as we would have liked, mainly due to breakage, but I was hooked. The following year I competed with Bruce Shallis spotting. Considering the rig we were using I think we faired pretty well. The next two years I helped out with teams and spotted on occasion, but did not have a rig that I felt was competition ready. At the end of the 2005 season I decided that I needed to be back in the drivers seat and started to build my current rig, which would be debuted in 2006. With the help of Dave Kemner at Full Circle 4x4, we assembled the most state of the art rig to enter the pro-modified class on the east coast, and possibly the country. In 2006 we took home high honors with 2 wins, a second and a fourth, third overall in UROC Atlantic division, and led the We-Rock series through the mid-point of the year. This year we aim to better those statistics. I have teamed up again with Bruce Shallis, who had been spotting an unlimited rig the past 4 years. Together, with my experience in the new rig and Bruce’s experience as a spotter in a more difficult class, we are shooting for the top of the field in 2007.
Outside of competitive rockcrawling, I am a small business owner in Flemington NJ where I also reside with my wife Elizabeth and our 2 year old daughter Kaileigh. I am an avid outdoors person and help out in the offroad community whenever I have the opportunity.
