Flat tire, tire puncture, drop in temperature, nail in your tire, preventing uneven tire wear: all reasons why ARB’s external Tire Pressure Monitoring System kit keeps you safe and ready with real-time measurements. It’s also great for older vehicles where factory tire pressure monitoring systems aren’t equipped.
This DIY external TPMS sensor kit is wireless and has an easy screw-on-design so it can be installed in minutes. Each tire valve cap contains a sensor that sends individual pressure readings in real-time from each tire to the receiver that plugs into your Jeep’s® standard 12V power outlet. Each valve cap sensor is marked to indicate which tire to install it on, so the corresponding tire pressure is properly displayed on the receiver’s screen. The receiver is also conveniently equipped with a 5V/1A USB port for charging other devices like your smartphone or GPS. In case you don’t notice the visual alarms right away, audible alarms will indicate fast or slow leakage, high temperature, and low battery power so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road. Monitor pressure ranges from 10-75 psi and customize visual and audible alerts from 18-66 psi.
To install the TPMS sensor caps, first remove your vehicle’s standard tire valve caps. Next, slide the dust cover around the tire valve and then thread on the locking security nut. Once the dust cover and locking nut are in place, thread on the valve cap sensor. Be sure not to over-tighten the sensor to avoid stripping the threads on the tire’s valve. Stop threading the sensor onto the valve when you no longer hear air escaping the tire. Next tighten the locking security nut with the included tools to prevent theft of the sensor caps. Simply repeat this process for the remaining tires.
Sensor batteries included.
