HID technology uses two tungsten electrodes in place of the traditional filament. The HID electrodes are sealed inside a clear quartz tube that's filled with Xenon gas and other elements that become ignited to produce an incredibly bright light similar to a welder's electrode. This arc bounces off an aluminum surface reflector and is then projected outward with brilliant results. Quadratec's HID Off Road Light Kits come complete with a pair of lamps with custom fit harness and are available in 60° driving or 30° long range spot beam patterns. Quadratec's 7” HID lamps feature integrated ballasts and standard Deutsch-type waterproof connectors for trouble free service. Clip on ABS plastic protective covers included. Housings are ABS and polycarbonate maintenance free construction with hardened glass lenses and have an IP67 waterproof rating. The 35W ballasts and H3 Xenon bulbs deliver 3,200 lumens at 6,000°. Lamps measure 8.125" diameter x 8.75" high x 6" deep. HID is still the choice for maximum light output and range. Installing auxiliary lighting should be easy with little or no cutting and splicing.
