Bestop Header Safari Bikini Top in Black Denim Reviews
I don’t like writing reviews like this. After 15 seasons, my BesTop Safari top was showing its age, shredded Velcro, etc. I decided to treat myself to a new one. I had read the negative reviews but bought it anyway. It did not want to stay in the BesTop header channel no matter what I did. While fifteen successful installations on my part doesn’t make me an expert, I’m hardly a novice. I called BesTop’s Customer Service Department and rather than connect me with an installation expert, they offered to initiate a Warranty claim. I explained that I wanted to make the unit I had work, not get a replacement that would presumably have the same issue. I asked to speak to the representative’s supervisor and was told that she was in a meeting and would call me back. That was 2 days ago, no return call. Yesterday I called Quadratec and received a similar response. I sent pictures, followed up with an email asking if my pictures had been received. No response. Finally I availed myself of Quadratec’s 30 day return policy and reinstalled my old top. What a shame that nobody at either company attempted to salvage the sale. All I wanted was advice. I truly wanted to make my new top work and keep it.
This was a replacement for an old bestop that finally died. It did not fit properly into the window channels. It was too loose and would come out on both sides at speeds over 25mph. Returned first one and had the same problem with the second top. Not sure what bestop did, but the top is too wide and I ended going with a different brand. Quadratec did a good job of helping me. While this product used to be good, I would suggest staying away from it as it currently is being produced.
Horrible top..rear straps will not hold at highway speed. You have to keep stopping to tighten them.Straps then shredded. This top is a week old.
