The New AEV Big Brake Kit for Jeep® Vehicles is a complete, bolt-on front brake kit. All parts needed are included, no running to the auto parts or hardware store and No special tools required. Knuckles are new castings, nodular iron and machined to factory specs manufactured in Detroit. Calipers are BRAND NEW OEM parts, not re-manufactured junkyard or off-shore copies. The brake pads are high-end aftermarket. Rotors are pre-drilled for the stock TJ, 5x4.5 bolt circle. 60 – 0 stopping performance was a huge improvement averaging more than 20ft less.

1. Some older vehicles do not have the TJ style dual diaphragm booster and will not work with the master cylinder required for the 17" kit, the 16" kit will work with all. Need tools? Click here

Performance:
Test Vehicle: 2002 TJ , 4.0L manual, 6” long arm, 35” MT/R tires, Off-road bumpers front and rear, winch, highlift jack.
Stock brakes: 60 – 0 stopping distance average 175ft Max decel rate 0.74g. Could not lock the brakes
16” kit: 60 – 0 stopping distance avg 151 ft max g decel rate .85g. Skid limited (able to lock brakes during the stop).
17” Kit: 60 – 0 stopping distance, less than 150 feet, max decal rate 0.91G (With 37” MT/R beadlocks). Skid limited (able to lock brakes at any time).

Stock TJ - 280 x 24 6.0mm thick plates (11.0 inch dia., 0.94 inch thick) wt = 13 lbs
16” Kit - 305 x 26 7.5mm thick plates (12.0 inch dia., 1.02inch thick) wt = 17.5lbs
17” Kit - 336 x 28 8.5mm thick plates (13.2 inch dia., 1.1 inch thick) wt = 22 lbs
16" Kit does not need a new master cylinder because the volume of the new calipers is close enough to the volume of the stock calipers. 17” Kit requires the master cylinder because those calipers are much larger.
16” Kit recommended for 35” and SMALLER tires
17” Kit recommended for 37” tires MINIMUM.,
