Crown Automotive 83500201 Outer Axle Shaft Oil Slinger for 87-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ, 84-01 Cherokee XJ & 93-98 Grand Cherokee ZJ with Dana 30 Front Axle

Be careful in ordering on these slingers.
In my experience this part may not fit your stub shaft, though it may be specified as correct. I think there is variation in the actual axle stub shafts used.

Crown Automotive provides an aftermarket slinger using the 83500201 part number, and OMIX provides the same numbered 16512.57...
These measure ~ 2.785"-2.790" ID and from what I've seen are comparable to the Spicer 40589 part number.

The Spicer 46988 measures ~2.735" ID and is what worked for me.
(1998 XJ Sport I6, 4.0L, non-disconnect, not-ABS.
I have seen this specified for vacuum disconnect shafts, but mine is not a vac-disconnect. I don't know why there is a discrepancy.)

Also, you may see a slinger part number 36364 also if you are searching on line.
I am advised these are for CJ series Dana 30s, measure 3.120" ID and will be too small ID for an XJs outer axle stub.
