WARN 88980 ZEON 8 Winch with 100' Wire Rope and Roller Fairlead

Just installed Zeon 8 with cable on my 15 Wrangler Sport. Used the Warn Elite full bumper, very impressed with the low profile look. Can't go wrong with Warn, this is my #6 and never had any problem.

Great winch. I opted for the wire version for the durability. Installed on a JCR bumper on my '95 XJ. Works perfect every time.

Purchased this a few years ago while I was still in high school. I saved up enough to buy a Warn even though the competition was half the price because Dad had one and I thought it was a name I could trust. I used it twice with the wire cable before I switched to the rope after line was damaged. Same length and for the same winch. I used it three more times a year later no issue. This year it completely quit on me. Come to find out Warn voids the warranty if you change the line (Why??) and after reading some really atrocious reviews of their service department I decided to tear it apart myself. Solenoid was fine. Transmission was fine. Motor runs. However it still fails to engage the drum and spool in/out no matter the position on the switch on the transmission side. If/when I can sort this unit out and buying a Smittybilt 98510 like I should’ve in the first place.

Time I used it:
• Pulled an Excursion out of several inches of sand.
• Pulled a JKU out of several inches of mud
• Pulled two 1/4 ton pickups and a sedan up a hill during ice.
• Attempted to rescue another JKU from mud but it failed before I could even hook it up.

*Never used the winch with the Jeep in motion. Only used strong tow points. Kept it clean. Never ran it under water or had it under water.*
