KC HiLiTES shock mounted lights began with the famous KC Daylighter® that was invented and patented in 1972. Not only does the Daylighter® use a heavy-duty rubber gasket (bulb holder) that isolates the lens, reflector, and bulb from the metal housing and elements of weather, but it also includes the patented shock mounting system.
The KC HiLiTES shock mounting system was developed as a way to isolate the lamp unit from the mounting bracket or surface to which the the light is mounted. This system successfully reduces lamp failure due to vibration and has been proven through the extremes of off road racing. Now, the shock mount system has been updated from the original to require no extra drilling. We currently offer a wide range of 6 inch round lights in various finishes and wattages that include this proven shock mount system.

KC HiLiTES 100 Watt Daylighter Pair Pack System Reviews
Nice for my TJ, great product
Old school,
Love the KC Daylighters. Especially if you want to stay old school and forget the LED craze
Questions

Because your Jeep has a factory auxiliary switch bank, it already features built-in relays and fuses under the hood. The deluxe wiring harness that comes with the Daylighters also includes its own 12V relay, inline fuse, and an illuminated rocker switch meant to be mounted inside a dashboard. If you use the full KC harness as-is, you would be duplicating relays and running unnecessary wires through your firewall.
Amperage Math (Crucial Step)
A pair of 100W halogen Daylighters draws roughly 16.6 amps total (8.3 amps per light).
Your JLU's auxiliary switch wires are pre-fused at different ratings under the hood:
Aux 1: 40 Amps
Aux 2: 40 Amps
Aux 3: 15 Amps
Aux 4: 15 Amps
Because the lights draw 16.6A, you must use Aux 1 or Aux 2 (the 40-amp circuits). If you connect them to Aux 3 or Aux 4, you will instantly blow the Jeep's factory 15-amp fuse when you turn them on.
How to Modify the KC Harness for Factory Aux Switches:
Cut out the KC Relay & Switch: You only need the section of the KC harness that connects to the lights themselves. You can discard or archive the KC relay, the inline fuse tap, and the interior toggle switch.
Mount the Lights & Route Wires: Mount your Daylighters and route the light-side waterproof plugs into the engine bay toward the battery area (passenger side firewall).
Locate your Jeep Aux Wires: Find the bundle of four color-coded factory auxiliary wires taped near the main battery/fuse box.
Wire Connections:
Combine the positive (usually yellow or red) power wires coming from both lights and crimp/solder them directly to either the Aux 1 wire (Light Green/Brown) or Aux 2 wire (Brown).
Combine the negative (black) ground wires from both lights and attach them securely to a factory ground chassis terminal or the negative battery post.
By bypassing the extra KC relay and switch, your new Daylighters will operate cleanly right from your High Tide's factory dashboard button.
