Rugged Ridge 18003.50 Engine and Transmission Skid Plate for 12-18 Jeep Wrangler JK

Oil drain hole could be just a little better location. I had to create a funnel to make the oil go through the hole and not all over the plate. 1 inch would have made a huge difference. Other than that, it has taken pretty of abuse and held up perfectly.

The plate is pretty heavy duty and would probably protect your engine and transmission just fine, if you can install it. The instructions were shredded in the box and the pictures were so blurry I couldn't use them to help install. I Printed new instructions from website and they were pretty confusing even with the clear pictures. I am not a master mechanic but I am not a beginner. The way it is mounted to the motor mounts and the cross member by the transfer case is just awkward. I read the product description and the questions asked about the product and the skid plate is supposed to work with a lift kit. I have a Teraflex ST3 and the skid plate hit the exhaust. I think this skid plate would protect your engine and transmission if you can get it installed properly. I never got out of my garage with this skid pate installed and I ended up taking it off. I plan on returning it.
