The pitman arm connects your steering linkage to your steering box. When you install a lifted suspension on your Jeep, you need to be sure that the drag link, which is the steering arm that connects to the pitman arm has the same angle as your track bar. When these components are not at the same angle, they'll cause "bump steer". This can be fixed by installing a new pitman arm that is the correct length to bring these two bars back parallel to each other.
