Reviews for Armadillo Front Billet Mechanical Door Stops for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Best product I have purchased so far for my Wrangler sport JK (except maybe for my zombie apocalypse bumper). Easy installation and now no more doors swinging open into other people's cars, etc.
Super for holding my doors in the wind
I am very satisfied with this product after two months. The instructions should maybe include diagrams vs. just words, but the supports were easy to install and perform just as I'd hoped. The noise is minimal, in my view.
No more door slamming into my leg when getting out.
No more worry about damaging some other car's mirror or door.
While it does what it is suppose to do (keep your door from flying open or closed), it doesn't seem all that sturdy. Both doors now produce a noticeable "clicking" when opening and closing. Have applied wheel bearing grease (as recommended in manufacturer instructions) with no correction.
Work great for a few months, then the keepers seem to quit working and wont hold the door open. I have had them on for 2+ years and the bracket attached to the door broke in half. Still work better than the straps, so i ordered a spare set. 3 stars because the bracket breakage & the travel rod could be longer so the door opens to 90 degrees or past a bit.
Really easy installation using T30 and 10mm wrench. These only fit the front doors of the JKU. These highly limit how wide the doors open. Under strong winds the door still shuts closed and there is a clicking sound, but it's better than nothing.
Just installed them on my 17 JK.They work reasonably well and do make a coping sound when shutting the doors. I did notice that the arm that installs on the Body side is about 1/8" short from the front to back as the lower inside body trim interferes with inside aft of the body mounted clip. Causing the mount to have a slight up tilt to clear the trim. and some rubbing of the shaft end clip that mounts to the body mount to rub the paint off. Not badly but a sign of sloppy design. Time will tell how they hold up to daily use.
Provide very little resistance and click excessively....not great quality at all especially for the price.
Not a very good product. Have had to replace three times in recent years on drivers side. I buy these so I will not have to drill holes in doors. Would like to see a better product with no drilling necessary.
I've had 2 sets of these and the arms have bent so bad that the driver side door doesn't open easily anymore. When they work they are great but they are prone to bend from straight and then they just don't function properly.
