Reviews for QuadraTop Bimini Top Plus, Clearview Windstopper & Tonno Cover Combo in Black Diamond for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door
Excellent product. I have had mine for a couple weeks now, and it's a solution to keeping the hard top off for the whole summer. I live in the NE with lots of lousy weather. A couple tips - if you are a hard top jeep owner, spend the extra $ on door surrounds. Then, go to a home improvement store and purchase a six foot section of rubber pipe insulation (the rubber kind-not the "pool noodle" hard foam type) and cut pieces to stuff in the gap between the door surround and the roll bar. Also, for the person below who could not keep the back straps tight (I had the same problem), hook them to the SIDE of the vehicle, not the back as directed. It's a little hard to force the hook into the side track over the tonno cover, but if you tap it lightly with a mallet, it will go in the groove. This is a much tighter fit, and almost no buffeting at speed . Yesterday was a hard downpour, trucks on the highway splashing water, and I did not get one drop of water in the vehicle. Properly installed you should stay dry. Cons: The straps for the Windstopper could have been made a little longer, and the Velcro wrap-arounds on the bimini top that go around the roll cage are hard to draw tightly. But it is a great product.
Purchased QuadraTech Bikini Top Plus. Didn't like Bikini Top PLus - backend was vibrating too much. Called QuadraTech and told them the problem, they gladly exchanged for the basic Bikini Top which works very well, even refunded the difference in price. Very good company!
installed in under an hour. Looks great . bimini rattles in the wind at higher speeds.
I bought this product mostly for the ease of removing and reattaching for warm weather, (the factory soft top is aggravating to take down/put up with just one person doing it, and to much bother if its just for a day), so I bought Bimini combo.
This product is much easier to remove for sunny days, which I love. It's not hard to install, the biggest issues that I have had are:
1- every time I put bimini on when driving I have to pull over to tighten back straps. (When first putting up, I tighten using a pair of pliers). Drove about 5 miles and noticed that the very back was flapping, thought this was normal so kept driving. Back strap slipped so I had to pull over to tighten once again, first time out I ended up pulling over twice. After that I didn't wait until it slipped, just untill started flapping. Now average stop is one time.
2- not weather resistant at all, (this includes the windstopper and tonno cover.) So the first time it rained it soaked everything. My recommendation is if you buy add a full cover to your order, as of right now I have a large tarp over mine untill my full cover comes in.
WINDSTOPPER:
I hate to say it but once it stays warm I will remove and not put back on.
1- Once installed if you r tall (I am), it will not let you push seat back very far nor can you recline back much.
TONNO COVER:
I love it, it was easy to install and everyone can't see what's in the back. The biggest issue is water pools on top and it allows rain through to the trunk.
So in the end I had to give three stars.
