Reviews for Rostra Precision Controls 260-1024-JEEP LED Daytime Running Light System for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Just installed my DRL today and couldn't be happier with the result. Took about two hours to install. Directions were great and straight forward. I used a dremel to make the initial cut and to score the outline of the cutout. I then used a hacksaw to cut out the opening. The saw left a smooth, straight cut whereas the dremel tended to melt the plastic. I just hope the LEDs last. Very satisfied. Would highly recommend.
Installed this on my 2015 Wrangler and it works perfectly.
awesome addition !!! work as advertised. fit and function great.
Excellent
Lights worked great for about 4 years, I think that is the time frame.
Today I noticed one side out, swapped to other side that is working and still dead.
Sucks you have to buy the kit to replace one light.
Never thought about it before, but if these get discontinued and are no longer available you will have 2 cut out holes in your fenders that fit nothing.
The product gets 5 stars for design and quality, installation instructions gets 1 star for being incomplete and poorly written. Installation took about 2 hours using Nathaniels combination of a dremel and hacksaw blad, that was a good tip. Troubleshooting to get these to work added another 4-5 hours with multiple phone calls to Quadratec (thanks Mike and Ed) and the manufacturer tech support. Initial thought were a bad control module, Quadratec overnighted a replacement set, that did not solve the problem. Tech support at Rostra suggested going to their wbsite and printing out the instructions in color instead of using the black & white version that came with the lights. That was helpful with the wiring but was not the answer. They were also surprised I did the installation myself. I finally called in a fellow Jeep owner for a fresh set of eyes and a calmer disposition. My son looked things over and thought it was the 3-pin connector that attaches to the control module. He was familiar with that brand of waterproof connector and explained that although the wires you need to connect to it had round pins and the connector had round holes, the pins were actually directional. That very important fact was NOT in the instructions. He carefully oriented the pins which allowed them to seat farther in the connector, re-attached it to the control module and they worked. Unfortunately, now they would not shut off. We followed the wiring diagram exactly, but for me it did not work. I had to find another power source in the fuse box that would only come on when the ignition was in the "run" mode. Now, three days later, I like the looks and everything is working fine. Cutting holes in your fenders means you are seriously committed to this project, I am happy with the looks but after the fact would NOT try this again. Thumbs up to Quadratec Customer Service though!!
Bought these a couple years ago. Worked great for 2 years. Now the dlr appears stuck on dim. Been struggling for a month trying to get a response from the manufacturer relative to trouble shooting. Unfortunately I cut holes in both fenders installing, so simply removing is not an option.
