Reviews for Smittybilt Front & Rear G.E.A.R. Custom Fit Seat Cover with G.E.A.R. Tailgate Cover for 13-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door
I ordered this set and all the boxes arrived ripped open and seats were damaged / dirty and torn. I was also missing most of the Molle pouches. The boxes were crudely taped back together and all items were not in any plastic bags which usually comes from the manufacturer, like someone went through them. Being a new customer, this left a horrid impression of Quadratec. I had ordered other items as well. that arrived later well packaged and secured for shipment. Naturally I was irate after spending a lot of money on seat covers, and I happen to be in the north most and remote part of the country, in rain and mud - wrecking up a brand new jeep without it being a month old. This was very frustrating as I have to trek an hour down poor roads to pick up shipments, I would have rated this company a 0 out of 5 at this time, BUT, their after hours customer service and next day business hours associates literally jumped through hoops to make it right. They get a lot of stuff sent drop shipped, and based on my orders that originated from their warehouse, and how it was packaged is literally night and day. They sent new seat covers (this time in only slightly damaged condition to the original box (not their fault) and they were packaged complete. I spoke with the service rep regarding this, as I used the other ones already and regarding the missing items, he said take the items I should have and send back the rest as it is covered in the warranty. Their staff (all of the ones I dealt with) were highly professional at all times and genuinely were concerned, in addition to the rapid follow up. The seats are durable but not waterproof (nylon) and the fit is very good except for the bungee under straps (yet to see a seat cover that had decent ones). They are difficult to put on as seat covers go, compared to other brands (they don't stretch or give as much). The tailgate cover (JK - 2018) is the only thing not well fitted and you have to take the door hinge off to install it. I wasn't crazy about drilling holes in a new vehicle. the screws are cheap quality as well, best to go to a hardware store and buy some decent ones (like stainless, or ones that wont rust). On Drilling - the 7/64" hole is right for the screws with it, if you use a 1/8" bit, the screws won't hold, if you mess up, go 1/8" and decent screws. the 7/64" bit is easy to break on the steel as well, you might want to have a spare bit on hand.
I recommend doing a top right corner and work across top to left pulling tight to drill in the center of the grommet then repeating for the bottom so the back panel is tight when done if you are doing it by yourself. Not hard, just take your time and go one at a time.
The quality overall of the seat covers I would rate 9/10, as they fit snug and after the wrestling to get them on, you will see some areas could fit better (like next to the seatbelts on front and back) and the bottom Velcro is bunched, but does hold very well. Once I wear these out, I will be buying another set, as they fit better than most of the more expensive ones. This is a good buy for the money. Not often do I not feel ripped off buying something, after the second set (complete in all items) arrived, I saw I had a really good value for the money.
If you have a significant other or want to test their love and devotion to you, these covers are a pretty good trial, the 1-2 hour install time is more like 2-4 unless you work as a professional seat cover installer.
The Molle system loops are not the greatest, and if you only hook a single row instead of weaving the strap through, they will stretch out. they are a pain to weave, but will function well as the bag and weight is distributed across multiple rows. The bags remove easily if you unclip them, but takes a while in caparison installing correctly.
The white "Made in China" tags that adorn every item can easily be pulled off, but I am still nervous regarding the appearance of some variant of Mattress Tag Police.
Once again, Thanks Quadratech, for the outstanding customer service and actually caring about customer satisfaction - You definitely have my future business!
My rating for Customer service is 10 out of 10, It is easy to see why you have so much repeat business!
I look forward to ordering a lot more items in the near future.

I installed the rear covers today as well as the tailgate panel. Installation of the seat covers is simple and straightforward. Super strong Velcro along with a few buckles keeps everything in place. They fit so well that they look like my factory seats. The MOLLE system provides a ton of storage options even on the headrest covers. Installing the tailgate panel requires drilling into the tailgate which proved to be an easy operation with my Dewalt 20V driver and drill set.
Holds up well when doors and tops off was worried it may move to much or even go flying... but it’s helped up just fine! Nice to have that extra protection when I’ve got a bunch of big dogs in my JKU or wanna be topless for awhile.
When looking for a Seat cover for Our 2016 JKU that would help with our labs dog hair I bought these there hair brushes right off and does not get into the fabric. We love that they are made out of the same Material as of the Military GEAR bags so i knew they would hold up. I love how they come with all the bags to hang on the seats. When putting them on I used a tent hook to pull the loop through the seat then I put a big screwdriver through the loop to pull it tight :) Just make sure you put the front seat covers on with the flap for the air bags on the outside of the seat and remover the head rest by leaning your seat back that helped me when getting them off. The price is a lot but We like them so much Im buying a set for my 2014 JKU and I just love Smittybilt Products. I hope this helps you out when looking for a seat over
Easy to install and fit great.
These do not come with instructions which may not seem like that big of a deal because they are only seat covers but to really secure mine I had to take all the seats out of my jeep. Other wise they kept on coming loose. Some of the straps that help secure the seat cover are very poorly placed. For example some of the straps go right through where the legs are supposed to fold up into the back row of seats. Also the side straps are secured by only a single line of stitching and if they come loose the cover slips very easily. OH and they are not really waterproof. Coffee and water get absorbed right into them. My recommendation, only get the tailgate cover.
