Reviews for American Trail Products 35150002 4" Lift Kit for 15-20 Renegade BU & 17-20 Compass MP
Trusted Manufacturer, item that I wanted
Front sway links continuously go out if you use the vehicle in off road settings.. and they go out quickly! Other than that, the ATP kit has served its purpose and performs well on and off road. Our client's Renegade sees as much trail action as it does pavement, so we plan to fabricate quick disconnect end links for the front sway far and put the issue behind us. Tired of buying new non-disconnect ATP links!
I have had this lift on for two years now and I'm on my 3rd left front CV axle. The boots tear very quickly and with everything on backorder right now and no aftermarket axle available for the left front for the 1.4 manual at Mopars price on $498 for one...I'm taking my lift off today. Rock auto, Oreilley's, Napa Autoparts all have an aftermarket axle listed for my Jeep (even give them my VIN) NONE OF THEM ARE RIGHT!! I contacted ATP shortly after installation because of the vibration in the front end from the angle of the driveline hoping they would have a solution. Nope! Basically they made the lift and you have to figure out the rest. Love the look of the vehicle with the lift but it is definitely not worth the headache and compromised ride. Not to mention I have to run 2" wheel spacers to allow clearance for the new position of the strut towers and the biggest tires I could run are only 1" larger than stock without doing the pinch seam mod. Very disappointing.
After a year of having it installed i can say it does what it advertises, add height , but that’s bout it. Ive taken it to several shops to get it aligned and its nearly impossible to get it aligned. ATPS solution is to find a “ shop that’s willing to put in the work”. It’s not dangerously on the road or off road but expect have accelerated wear on your tires. Suspension over all is very stiff . Almost feels incomplete for the price tag .
Nothing in the ad or specs stated the need for wheel spacers. I had to get it aligned 3 times, order cam bolts. The shop that aligned it had to loosen everything on the lift, use bottle Jack's, come-a-longs, crow bars, etc just to get it close enough! $700 later I have a Jeep alignment that is 'close enough.' Certainly do not recommend this ever. Definitely not a plug n play lift whatsoever.
This lift was sold to our business for a 2wd renegade. Customer service advised it would fit no problem. Now after spending an entire day to install we have learned from the manufacturer that it is not. So another day has to be used to remove a lift a customer paid for. We installed and removed this equipment without compensation!
