Description
Rebuilding your Jeeps axle is simple with Crown Automotive parts. This Dana 35 Standard Differential Carrier is a replacement for the original found in the YJ and early Cherokee. For ring gears with .81" bolts, this open carrier uses your original internal spider gears or aftermarket "lunchbox" style locking gears, and designed for used with stock 27 spline axle shafts.

Fitted this carrier to my stock 1989 Wrangler YJ (Rear differential - Dana 35)
My old Dana 35 gear carrier was at the end of life due to past damage. (previous owner).
Note that if your original carrier is from 1987-1989 it will likely have a spring dowel locking pin (which you need to drift out) that locks the spider gear shaft in place. This carrier requires the screw in pin to lock the spider gear shaft in place. This is a bare carrier (no pins) so you'll need to order the locking pin separately.
If you happen to order the correct replacement spider gear set, the set comes with both types of shaft locking pins.
All other aspect of the carrier, OEM ring gear fitment etc. are a perfect fit for an 89 YJ Dana 35 diff.
