Reviews for Quadratec Maximum Duty Hydro 7.0 Rear Shock for 84-06 Jeep Cherokee XJ & Wrangler TJ with 3.5"-4.0" Lift
I lifted my 99XJ to 4.5" on the front and paired these shocks to a Shock stem eliminator (top) and a bar pin eliminator (bottom), personally having these rear shocks up front is doing my jeep some good, I like the response.
fit perfect with my 3.5 lift kit

2006 tj. No issues. Bolted right in. Fun trying to get the mounting bar through the bushing at top of shock but I managed.
haven’t had a problem with the shocks them self. But the rear the upper mount that goes through the bushing and bolts onto the frame is the weakest part that I found. Custom made some and held up great. Warranty is also quick and easy. great customer service. Would totally recommend. Have them front and rear on my TJ and held up great.

Like the other reviews stated, the weak link with these rear shocks is the upper mount. After 20k on my 4" lifted xj, the upper mount bushing wore through on the passenger side.
I am replacing both rears with the same shock. Can't beat the price for performance. Other than acting wonky at 12,000 feet in the San juans and the bushing, they've been great for the application.
Shock quality look great but the bracket that the bolts go through on the top bushing on my XJ has the slotted holes to far apart for the bolts to fit in the original holes of the body. Had to modify the slotted holes to make them work. This added additional time to the job for installing but did work after the modification. Shocks are long for a 3.5 RE. lift. Only leaves about 4 in. for the shock to travel before bottoming out. If you have a 3in lift you better order the next smaller length shock.
