Quadratec at the UROC Atlantic Pro Nationals, Jellico Tn.

As some of you already know, Quadratec is sponsoring three drivers, Aaron Stapen, Jack Bettio, and Charlie Melchner in the UROC and WE Rock series for 2006. We decided to take the trek to beautiful Jellico Tennessee to cheer on our drivers and get the rock crawling season off to a great start.
The weekend started off on a gray note, as there was a good chance for rain all weekend. The drivers and crew arrived bright and early Saturday morning and got right to removing their rigs from the trailers. After clarifying the coarse and some strategizing by the spotters, the group separated and began lining up for the start of the competition. The weather didn't look like it was going to cooperate, but the raindrops were a false alarm. After a few sprinkles, the clouds began parting and we were treated to a warm and comfortable day.
The courses were difficult, and being under a new set of rules made the competition a little shaky at the start, but once the crews got rolling, things moved along nicely. The drivers were giving it their all, and the great crowd in Jellico enjoyed all the efforts that went into creating these awesome machines that were built to do amazing feats. Unfortunately, unnatural things happened to our rigs over the two days of competing and the rocks won the weekend. Our teams got the rigs back on the trailers and headed for home, ready to get fixed and come back better than before. Regardless of the scores, it was a great start to the season and a great way to see old friends in action.
