Teraflex 3" Sport ST3 Suspension System with Fox Shocks Reviews
What a great lift kit! This lift kit was exactly what I wanted for my 2015 Sahara 2-door 6-speed MT. I don't plan on doing a bunch of rock crawling, but I still have plenty of flex. I really like the shocks and limit straps for use as a "pre-runner". The sway bar quick disconnects aren't too troublesome as long as I was parked on level ground.
When I installed this kit I also installed a Fusion 4x4 Elite 44 front axle with Adam's drive shafts. I will say that having the +4 degrees of pinion adjustment in the Fusion front axle was exactly what I needed for the Adam's drive shaft; however, I ended up purchasing the TeraFlex Alpine adjustable front upper control arms so that I could adjust the caster/pinion angle correctly. I also replaced the rear upper control arms with TeraFlex Alpine adjustables to correct the pinion angle (Adam's drive shafts, or any double cardan driveshaft, requires as close to 0 degrees between the pinion shaft and the driveshaft as possible, and really any more lift/adjustment than about 4 degrees I would recommend having the axle mounts being adjusted and/or using a "wedge" for the coil springs as they will begin to "bow" towards the rear). If you are using factory style driveshafts then I don't believe adjustable upper control arms would be required, but the stock Dana 30 front axle will need to be adjusted with a balance between pinion angle and caster.
I highly recommend using aftermarket extended brake lines as I didn't like the idea of bending the rear brake lines. In the front, the TeraFlex brake line rubber brackets are simply amazing, even with extended brake lines
I also used Reid Racing knuckles when I ordered the Fusion 4x4 Elite 44 front axle, along with a Fusion/Rare Parts ball joints and 2.5 ton steering kit, with drag link flip. The Fusion Elite 44 front axle bump stops are a bit taller than that of the Dana 30, so the provided TeraFlex bump stop "pucks" were sufficient to prevent contact on the frame from the flipped drag link with the axle at full "stuff". I would say 3" of lift is an absolute minimum for drag link flip, and I may end up installing a 1" coil spacer in the front when I install my Quadratec winch.
You can definitely find kits with greater flex or long arms, but I am totally satisfied with this kit's sport/trail functionality. I think at 3" of lift, the on-road handling is very close to stock suspension handling. Anything more than 3" of lift I would think that the use of long arms or short arm drop brackets would be a must. Off road, I was able to tackle some moderate to difficult trails with ease.
All that said, I really enjoyed installing this lift kit. It took me several weeks to do, but I was admittedly taking my time and enjoying the process as much as possible. I think that this kit, while being a bit older, is still an amazing lift kit.
Incredible combo!
