Teraflex HD Hinged Carrier & Adjustable Spare Tire Mounting Kit for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Dedicated tooling provides a cast A356.2 T6 Aluminum main component. This keeps the carrier as light, and strong as possible. The fit and finish is designed to follow the flow and contour of the Jeep tub, while seamlessly providing additional mounting points for off road accessories such as recovery jack and fluid containers. The factory Jeep body provides substantial internal gussets and bracing that easily supports the new tire carrier and over sized tire. The HD hinge brackets are forged steel and the HD 5/8" hinge pins are constructed from cold formed high-carbon hardened steel. The combination of mounting location and HD mounting brackets provides one of the strongest, rattle-free tire carriers on the market today. The TeraFlex HD tire carrier removes all stress from the gate by utilizing the HD reinforcement carrier as the load-carrying component, in effect it carries the weight of the tailgate assembly and the spare tire.

Teraflex HD Hinged Carrier & Adjustable Spare Tire Mounting Kit Reviews
I deliberated a lot and had planned to use a carrier compatible with my Hard Rock bumper. After much consideration I decided to just get the hd hinge carrier.
I am very happy with this carrier, it is quite robust, fitment is nice tight, and use is smooth and easy. I have zero rattles out of the over sized tire, and no longer worry about damage to my tailgate.
It is expensive, but it is a nice piece.
One day to arrive from order date, carefully packaged, Hinged carrier is Solid, (does not conform exactly but more than adequate in design) I run Falken A/T3W 285/75R17s so figured for a 33 inch mount but the 35 lug location (middle holes) was a better fit for the tire mount. Keeping the rubber gaskets in place was fun while installing. (use some k. y. to stick them in place) Hinged carrier package was missing part no. 4860222 Hole Plug item 10. so had to cover hole with E tape. overall easy install and took care of the rattling from the OEM carrier which was driving me nuts.
