Noram Auto Body Parts 17750-L Driver Side Replacement Steel Rear Fender Panel for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ

I wanted to share my experience with this product so that others might benefit from what I discovered. I purchased this product, Noram Auto Body Parts 17750-L Driver Side Replacement Steel Rear Fender Panel, for my 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ. When it arrived, I was discouraged because the shape of the fender panel did not seem to match my 2006 Jeep Wrangler. In particular, whereas the fender panel of a Jeep Wrangler is flat, this fender panel was curved from top to bottom, much like you'd see on a sedan. As I examined the panel further however, I wondered if I could gently press down on the curve and flatten it out. That looked like it would work. Before I did that though, I contacted Noram customer service to confirm my thinking. I received a reply very quickly from Noram, as follows: "When we pull-max the wheel well into the panel, it strains the steel so that a natural bow occasionally forms in the panel. Your instincts are correct however, when the panel is pressed down, clamped onto the car and welded into place it will flatten out." So I went ahead and pressed down on the panel, and it did flatten out. So, if you receive this product and it's bowed, be assured that you can flatten it out. Other than this one issue, so far the panel seems to be a good match for my Jeep configuration. I haven't installed it yet, but it looks like it will be fine.
