Reviews for Crown Automotive RT26057 Stainless Steel Locking Hood Catches for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
My Trusted friend and mechanic installed in locks in an hour, looks fantastic but i know it will keep hood secure from thieves, same with locking gas cap!! It's worth it to have both

These we easy to install since I was installing new Quadratec headlights at the same time and had already removed the grill. Work flawlessly once you get them adjusted and are a vast improvement over the "rubber band" stock hood hold-downs. No more freeway hood flutter.
Install would have been less than one hour but one of the locks was not working correctly. I had to remove the bottom latch and file down the bracket where the lock mechanism catches. Not sure if the lock mechanism was bent but after filing it is still a tight fit and the keys are a bit flimsy. Also, use a 13 mm for the bottom latch assembly and extension. On passenger side you will need a slim 1/4" ratchet and short socket due to the power steering tank. The stock nuts are easier to re-use than the ones provided.
Difficult install but not impossible. Easy to damage paint on hood/fender.
I installed these about 6 months ago. Today, one of the locks simply fell apart! The actual turning latch broke off from the key cylinder. This particular lock was always difficult to latch . It is supposed to be under warranty for 1 year or 12K miles.. I am well below both but do not know who to contact.
Long Term Review - I had these on my Jeep for roughly 4 years. However over time the keys began to stick, the bolts holding the latches on would loosen, and finally one of the tumblers froze up and completely broke.
I had to pry off the broken latch and will need to replace them. I had hoped this would be a permanent mod but will have to look for a different brand. I would recommend skipping this option and finding a different solution.
