Reviews for Under The Sun Inserts Solid Color Grille Insert for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Great insert. Easy to unstall
Wow this is really nice. Installs in minutes and covers all the interior of the front grill. Very happy with this item.
Easy peasy! Just slide it in behind the factory grill. Looks great and I'm happy it's aluminum instead of steel. No chance of rust. A bit pricier but I think it will be worth it and last longer.
I actually painted this to match other parts because I couldn't find a matching color. Pleased with the quality
Easy to install and looks great. Keeps debris out of radiator.
Looks sharp and keeps the road trash off the radiator.
Purchase the orange and absolutely pops and compliments my Rhino JK. Install took less than 5 minutes for a novice - just needed a flat head screw driver. This is a strong material so i have no concerns about durability. No noticeable change in engine temperature which is great. And of course it keeps my radiator clean.
The screen looks nice in the grill from directly in front. However, only the front surface is painted-the rest of the screen, including in the holes of the mesh, is white. Therefore, if you step to the side, it looks white rather than black. I am pretty disappointed that the entire screen wasn't painted, but still looks better than without.
Also, it arrived very bent from shipping. I started to return it, but I was able to mostly straighten it and once in the grille, you can't tell, so just went with it. Quadratec should really reevaluate how they ship these, though. The flat cardboard seems like it would get bent almost every time.(and wasn't even marked with Do Not Bend).
Easy to install, looks decent enough. As another reviewer stated, the paint is the outside surface only. The inside of the stamped holes is white so the color is only true from dead on in front. This is especially apparent with the black which ends up looking gray or like a weird 3D off-black color which isn't the look I was expecting or going for. It is easy enough to paint it properly with a high quality rattle can paint but at $135 for a stamped piece of aluminum you would think the paint job would be more thorough.
Shipping was delayed for about 3 weeks. At first, I didn’t understand how to install it. So it took a while. Because this item didn’t come with instructions, I had to YouTube it. Other than that, I love the overall look of it.
