How do I install the brackets correctly?

DV8 Offroad typically includes installation instructions with the product, and those should be your primary guide.
Installation Steps:
Identify the Parts: Ensure you have all the components included in the DV8 HTJL-BR kit. This typically includes the mounting brackets and all necessary hardware (bolts, washers, nuts).
Remove Soft Top Hardware (If Applicable): If your Jeep currently has a soft top, you will need to remove all the associated hardware and brackets according to your Jeep's owner's manual. The DV8 brackets will utilize some of the existing mounting points on your Jeep's tub.
Locate Mounting Points: Identify the factory mounting locations on your Jeep's roll bar and tub where the hardtop brackets will be installed. These locations are usually pre-drilled holes or threaded inserts.
Install the Brackets:
Position the DV8 hard top brackets over the identified mounting points.
Align the holes in the brackets with the holes in your Jeep.
Using the provided hardware (bolts, washers, nuts), loosely attach the brackets to the Jeep. Do not fully tighten them yet.
Ensure Proper Alignment: Make sure the brackets are aligned correctly and are sitting flush against the roll bar and tub. This ensures the hardtop will sit properly later.
Tighten the Hardware: Once the brackets are correctly positioned, use the appropriate tools to tighten all the mounting hardware securely. Refer to the DV8 installation instructions for any specific torque recommendations. If no torque specs are provided, tighten them firmly but do not overtighten, which could damage the brackets or your Jeep.
Prepare for Hard Top Installation: With the DV8 HTJL-BR brackets now securely installed, your Jeep is ready to accept a hard top. These brackets provide the necessary mounting points for the hard top to be bolted down.

Are these the same for the Gladiator

The manufacturer only lists the Wrangler for compatibility. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Once these brackets are installed, do I have to remove them every time I put the soft top back on?
