Does this offer ANY protection from rain?
The Smittybilt Extended Shade Top with Skylights is designed for sun protection and airflow, and it offers no protection from rain, because this product is a mesh-style top.

Will this work under the Bestop Sunrider?
Not directly without trimming and modifications that could effect the warranty of the shade top. Sorry for the inconvenience.

When shipped closed; does this provide any protection from rain while driving?
When closed, it is water resistant and dust proof. Small gaps where it attaches prevent this from being a top for rainy conditions. Thanks for your inquiry.

Can this shade be left on with soft top up?
It can, A couple straps will have to come undone to work.
