Synthetic line, control features, load indicator

Smitty has a good warranty on these. I purchased and installed mine about 18 months ago. So I have tested, maintained it with four test pulls a year all fine. I used mine real life yesterday. The cable interface got stuck in the control box with the "release tab" doing nothing. Called Smittybilt warranty 800 number. Guy who answered was courteous, professional and US based. and they are sending out new control box and cabled remote. This was a flaw they had in early production of this winch and apparently they do not use release tab anymore in the design. I suggest if you have an earlier model with the release tab that you notify smittybilt if you have any issues with remote cable male sticking inside and replace control box with newer design.

Power and price. I have a XRC 9.5 on my Wrangler. This one will go on my Ram 3500.

Great winch! Only issue is the coating on the engaged twist key started coming off within a week. But Mechanically it's a great winch.

nice winch for the price

I got the 12K with synthetic line and hawse fairlead. Install was really easy. Magnets in the handle are a nice feature. LED in the handle is kind of weak, but in a pinch it's nice to have. Also the LED light strip on the winch is great for keeping an eye on the line left and how its spooling. Having a 12 volt power hook up on the winch is really convenient!
