Reviews for Quadratec Brute Strength Side Steps for 18-24 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JL 4-Door
They look good while serving as a step and rocker protection perfect combo
Easy installation. I put them on my Rubicon 4xe. The instructions say you need a 13mm wrench and 13mm socket, but no socket I’ve ever seen will fit the space for the pinch weld bolts. The pictures show two wrenches and that’s what you really need, a ratcheting wrench preferred. You can use the socket on the vertical bolts.
Great look! Doesn’t hang down too far like so many other slider/steps Extremely sturdy.
Great customer service while ordering these rails. They were well packaged which is more then I can say for other rails I have purchased from other sites. They are sturdy and the hardware is solid. They provide excellent protection with out subtracting from your break over angles.
Easy installation and they look great.
Check specs on website, they weigh more than 12 lbs..
Good looking, relatively easy install with two people. But they are not burly or strong enough to be used as rock sliders. I am lucky to live 10 minutes from southern Utah's awesome sandstone trails and we routinely rub on the rocks. I have had these for about 6000 miles and have dented and gouged both sides extensively. My last Jeep had 2 3/8" diameter rails with thick walls. I scratched them all the time but they never bent or crushed.
I simply bought the wrong protection for my use. 97% of you will love these, but they aren't rock sliders.
Quality product and sturdy! The install wasn’t bad, but the instructions call for a socket wrench when the only tool you’ll have the space for is a ring ratchet wrench.
I was able to get 8 of the 9 bolts installed on each side, but both sides had a misaligned hole that I could not fit the last bolt into.
Pretty nice. Easy install (helps to have 2, I only had me). Is it just me or do these bow out a bit toward the rear. I am also wondering if these provide enough protection for the frame. The stock Rubicon rock rails seemed to cover the frame more. I think I these are good steps to ease climbing atop the jeep.
Great sliders just hardware was not complete had to go to home depot to complete install.
You cannot fit a socket where the instructions and the video tells you to. So now I’m stuck with loose bolts and I can’t drive to to the store to get another wrench unless I take the rails back off. The video makes it look easy but it’s a pain in the neck without the proper instructions and tools list. I will no longer trust Quadratec’s instructions or review videos. Waste of a day.
