If I connect the supplied alt power cable, from a 12 volt source , to the maestro unit, will it provide charging through my iPhone through the USB connection?
No, connecting a 12V constant or switched power source to the iDatalink Maestro module's accessory or power input will not increase iPhone charging current through the USB connection.

USB Power Output: The USB port on the Alpine i407-WRA-JK provides a standard USB power output (typically 1.5A to 2.1A depending on the specific model's internal power regulation), which is governed by the head unit's internal circuitry, not by the external power wired into the Maestro data module.

Maestro Role: The Maestro module handles vehicle data translation and accessory power switching for the radio, but it does not regulate or boost USB charging voltage or amperage to the phone.
