Will this still work if the soft top is completely removed or not?
This will, but the excess material designed for the folded down soft top hardware stack will be baggy and more prone to collecting water in a heavy downpour and when water is allowed to pool or collect, it may find it's way to seams. Thanks for your inquiry.
