Will it work on electric bikes with weight of approx 50 lbs?
Can you tow a trailer when in use?
The pad is not the issue with the weight. The tailgate is. Here are the JT's tailgate weight ratings.
The weight limit for the Jeep Gladiator tailgate depends on the position of the tailgate and the number of ramps used.
Open: 35 in off the ground
Half-down: 500 lbs
With a single ramp: 600 lbs
With a pair of ramps: 850 lbs
As for a hitch, it will be available to use but with the bikes you may need a hitch extender.

for the tailgate bike pad for jeep gladiator, do you need anything to secure back tires?
No, you do not. Use the required tether straps and the bikes will remain in place. Thanks for your inquiry.

If I have a tri-fold tonneau cover, will my bike still fit in the bed with 2/3rds of my cover folded back?
No. There would not be enough room for adult bikes with only 1/3 of the tonneau opened. Most adults bikes in a JT bed, will need to full bed length access. Thanks for your inquiry.

Can this transport 5 bikes at the same time? There are five sets of straps but your picture shows only two bikes. Thank you.
It will hold up to 5 small bike, but for large mountain bikes the most you can hold is four. They will be stacked up pretty tight as the width of the tailgate is limited. Thanks for your inquiry.
