I have the alpine package do I have to drill out the tweeter spot in this kit?
If you select the Alpine with Kicker Speakers option on our website (Quad Part# 14136-0473), It will come with the tweeter holes pre-cut.

are these an upgrade for JLU with the factory alpine speakers?
These are pods that will allow you to upgrade from the Factory Alpine Speakers. The Alpine Premium Audio package requires component speakers. Select Increments offers their JLJT-Pods either with or without Kicker 6.5in speakers. All JLJT-Pods include audio package specific plug-and-play wiring pigtails and mounting hardware.
