I want to really like these latches. The construction, design, and finish are fantastic! However, I have two major issues with the item. 1. The instructions call out using the original hood bumper for the install. On my '24, I could not see any way to remove the hood bumper from the original latches and the bumper I do have looks nothing like the bumper in the photo on the instructions. 2. All the pieces are high quality metal other than the safety snap, which is plastic and is pushed against every time you open and close the latch. I can foresee this piece breaking at some point, making this whole product either worthless or safety-impaired. These are not quite dealbreakers for me, but close.

The safety latch is totally useless and poorly designed. The latch is rugged metal and this is a clip-on piece of plastic. The latch is probably trustworthy, but this design lead to to question its efficacy.

Look nice, feel solid, an install video would go a long way but I figured it out. There is a step in the instructions that makes zero sense (step 3 about using your old part or something). Also BOTH plastic tabs broke the first time I shut the hood and latched it so not sure how important those are.

Looks good. Takes a little longer to install. The bolt located behind the fender is difficult to get to. Can't keep the straight horizontal bolts too tight because it won't latch. Also, the safety tab broke on right side so i guess I'll to get another of those.

Installed not even 6 months and the safety tabs both broke when opening. Looks better than stock but not up to the quality you would expect of something called the safety tab.

After less than 6 months installed on my Jeep, one of the little plastic “safety” pieces snapped off during normal open/close operation. Now, that latch will not stay closed at all. Very disappointed in these parts.clearly a design flaw to put so much stress on a little piece of plastic. And I’m very frustrated that seems to have been the only thing holding the latch itself closed! If you had asked me yesterday, I would have given this product 5 stars, but not after this experience.

I have a 2021 Willy's. I installed the Tactik latches about a year ago. I live right on the beach and unfortunately, the salt won. Powder coating flaked off and now its stripped down and oxidized. Didn't have this issue before when I bought a set for my 2010 Wrangler; past the warranty so now I need to buy a new set. Won't but again.

Only reason for this negative review is (1) binding barrel was stripped from factory. In order for customer service to replace we had to return the entire two latches. This to me was absolutely absurd! The latches themselves were not the easiest to install. Ended up finding a binding screw at a local hardware place. Auto zone and checkers did not even have the hex style.
