Reviews for Quadratec Axle Back Exhaust for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
It looks good, easy to install (if you get the right to remove the rubber support, don’t want to mess those up they are $15-$30 a piece). The pipe clamp is a bit on the lower budget end. My biggest complaint is that my OEM muffler with a soup can fix was an easy 10db quieter. This muffler has a deeper tone, almost to the point it sounds like I have no muffler. I would put my rating closer to 1.5/5 as it hits it out of the park for all but the most important category, and that category holds the most weight.
I really, really, really want to give this a better review but I can’t. I love the look it adds to the Jeep and it sounds perfect. But… I’ve had this cat back exhaust installed foe 1.5 months and driven my jeep less than 250 miles (it’s my play toy not primary vehicle) and the exhaust is already beginning to rust at the tips. I would expect this after significant use, maybe from damage off-roading, but after 250 miles of normal city driving?! What will it look like after 5,000 miles? I’d suspect at this rate it’s going to be completely rusted out.
I have a 2014 Wrangler Willys. Sounds good. Had a shop put it on. I am not able to put it on. I have a Rugged Ridge rear bumper with the Rugged Ridge hitch that bolts to the frame. I had a quarter inch between hitch and muffer. Driving the Wrangler a couple of days. The muffler touchs the back of the hitch. Don't know what to do. Can't get rid of hitch. Have a trailer I pull. Shop got rid of box muffer came in and old muffler is damaged.
Seems to be a well made product but the angle of the exhaust / clamp that connects to the existing exhaust pipe is off and doesn't really connect well. Also, the exhaust is not larger than the existing exhaust pipe so I had to initially use a pipe expander to even get it onto the existing exhaust pipe but it ultimately doesn't fit seamlessly or correctly. I will probably have to take it to a local mechanic to get it aligned properly which unfortunately will end up outweighing the decent price I originally got on the part.
