Does this work on the 2.5 jeep tj 97? Do i need to adjust the tilt with a multimeter or is it swap out/plug in and play?

Yes, the Mopar 68405575AA Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is compatible with the 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ 2.5L. This part number is a current Mopar supersession that replaces several older versions, including part numbers 04761871AB, 4626051, and 5234903.
No Multimeter Adjustment: Unlike some older vehicles or specific aftermarket sensors that use slotted mounting holes, the factory Mopar TPS for the TJ is "fixed." You do not need to use a multimeter to manually tilt or adjust the voltage output. The engine computer (PCM) handles the calibration once it receives the signal from the new sensor.
Mechanical Alignment: While there is no electrical adjustment, you must ensure the internal "hourglass" slot of the sensor correctly engages with the pin on the throttle body shaft. You may need to rotate the sensor slightly to seat it onto the pin before lining up the bolt holes.
PCM Reset: It is highly recommended to disconnect the battery before installation. This safe-guards the electrical system and allows the computer to clear any "learned" data from the old, failing sensor so it can begin fresh with the new one.
