Why is this not a factory standard?! As someone who is regularly in the engine bay for hooking up an air compressor, wiring accessories, or just regular maintenance, this has been a huge upgrade. The installation took a handful of minutes, and the struts raise the hood effortlessly and hold it in place. It’s oddly satisfying to pop the hood now and watch it smoothly open. I was so impressed with the struts on my wife’s Gladiator that I got a set for mine.

The install of these was so simple and the result of having a hood that opens automatically is game changing. It is a simple mod, but it works! We put a set on our wrangler and gladiator and do not regret it. In the rare case that you want to fully tip back the hood to the windshield, you can simply pop off one end of each strut and regain the full range of the hood. Install took me less than 10 minutes.
