I need to seal the gap between the tailgate and rear window. I have removed the top a few times, but the last time the seal is bad or missing. What weaterstrip do I need to close the gap between the tailgate and read window I have a 2004 Unlimited.

For your 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ), the weatherstrip you mentioned is exactly what you need to seal the horizontal gap between the top of the tailgate and the bottom of the rear glass (or rear curtain zipper). It installs directly onto the tailgate bar (the metal or plastic bar that slides onto the bottom of your rear window) to create a watertight seal against the tailgate.

Can you point me to the part that is the strip that sits along the top of the tailgate. It is present on both my jeeps (hard top and soft top)

Take a look at this and see if that helps find what you are looking for: https://www.quadratec.com/jeep-replacement-parts/wrangler-tj/tj-seal.php

Would this work as a seal for the back tailgate?

No. It will not. A tailgate seal for TJ will be the following model. Tailgate seal for TJ Thanks for your inquiry.

Does this come with the plastic track or just the rubber?

This is the weatherstrip that is attached to the body of the hardtop that the glass rests on. If you are looking for the lower seal that is 55006.0007

Is this for the bottom of the window?
Or for the top of the tailgate?
How easy or hard is it to install?

Hello, this is the u shaped seal that attaches to the hardtop and follows the curve of the lift gate glass. It is a very easy install because it presses on. Thank you for your questions.
