Do I need to order the door hinge set and the body hinge set for $700+ ? Why are they sold separately?
Whether you need both sets depends on the condition of your Jeep and your specific goals for the replacement. On a 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK, the hinge system consists of two separate components: the Door Hinge (the piece bolted to the removable door) and the Body Hinge (the piece bolted to the Jeep’s main frame).
Kentrol sells them separately because they are distinct mounting points with different failure rates.
Customization: Some owners only want to replace the door-side hinges with a "ready-to-paint" set while keeping their body hinges stock, or vice versa.
Accident Repair: If a door is damaged in an accident or while being stored off the vehicle, an owner may only need to replace the Door Side.
Cost Management: Because Kentrol uses high-grade T-304 Stainless Steel, these parts are an investment. Selling them in sections allows owners to upgrade their Jeep in stages rather than paying for all 16 pieces (8 door pieces + 8 body pieces for a 4-door) at once.

Are these paintable? I'd like them to match my yellow jk.
They would have to be scuffed and primed, then they could be painted. Thank you for the question.

Are the factory torx nuts compatible with these Kentrol hinges? Most pictures show either no nut attached or the supplied hex nut which I don't think look good.
No. They will need to installed with the hardware included along with the hinges. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Are these hinges in Gloss Black, or do they have a dull finish to them?
The option selection for black powder-coat will be smooth and semi gloss. The Textured will have a matte or my dull finish black. Thanks for your inquiry.

Do you need the bushings inserts with these?
If you use the factory body side hinges, yes, the bushing will be used. With Kentrol own body side hinges, you would not. Thanks for your inquiry.

Do the hinges come with the body side hinge plate I do not see them in the photoes or in the description.
