Reviews for Corbeau D124T Driver Side Complete Seat Bracket for 76-90 Jeep CJ-7 & Wrangler YJ
Used with Corbeau Moab seats. Had to bent a little to make it fit but works fine. Great for short people!
I bought Corbeau Seats for my YJ but the seats were too high on the stock seat bracket. For the driver side, it made it really hard to get in under the steering wheel. So I got this and this seats lower to give me that extra clearance to get in now.
perfect
2 inches lower than stock cj7 brackets. Perfect for my new mastercraft seats. Some modification is necessary though.
I really like the sliding action of these brackets for my 1986 CJ-7. I had to re-drill the rear mounting holes to get the bracket to line up with the bolt holes in my CJ's floor. The instructions make note that some fabricating and modification may be necessary. This is the only reason for 4-stars instead of 5-stars.
Holes didn't line up, but a heavy rubber mallet (and sometimes a crowbar) did the trick. Suggest you adjust the legs to line up with the holes before attaching the bracket to the seat.
Necessary for corbeau seats. Seats Sits much higher.
I bought this bracket to lower the seat by a few inches to give myself more room as I don't have a tilt column. I expected better on the fitment. Had to bend the right rear leg backwards approx 1/2" to make the bolt hole line up with my floor pan.
This bracket does lower the seat as everyone claims. However, it also shifts the seat outward (towards the door) by approximately 1". When used with Corbeau Moab seats as I did, this makes the seat interfere with the roll bar and prevents the seat from reclining at all. Luckily, you can redrill the seat track mounting holes to move the seat inward closer to the stock position. I was able to move mine approximately 1 3/4" which was just enough to clear the roll bar with the Moabs. Were it not for this being an easy enough modification, I would have given this product 1 star.
It's not a bad bracket, I just expected better from Corbeau
I installed these on my 1995 YJ. They DO NOT line up with factory mounting holes out of the box. I used the exacting method of pounding the legs with a dead blow hammer to bend them into shape. Also worth mentioning that these are a couple inches lower than the factory bracket. This doesn't seem like much, but especially on a 5-speed transmission all of the pedal locations will feel very strange until you get used to it.
I bought both drivers and passenger sides. I bought Smitty built seats and they will not bolt together without an adapter. Neither one said I need a seat bracket adapter. Bolt pattern is good for the jeep floor though.
