Reviews for Smittybilt 76400 SRC Stingray Vented Hood for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Came super fast delivery, was packed perfectly and looks amazing , can't wait to see it after paint job very satisfied
Bought one of these a couple years ago. Replaced my stock hood and had it painted to match. Very happy with quality and fitment. Came out great for the price. Engine runs a bit cooler and looks awesome!
I read the reviews of others, and chalked it up to a hit and miss issue with production. When the hood was received at the body shop, they had to spend a bit of time working out high spots and waves in the work, before they prepped it for paint, just to make it look "right". After it was painted and installed it looks sharp! (I will give them credit for that much.) However it seems this is not exactly a part that comes ready for paint for a OEM finish look.
Good looking hood which I had primed and painted professionally. It looks great with the center in a flat/satin black like pictured in the catalog. Ordered it at the annual tent sale in person, so got a decent % discount. The Included hardware is cheap not up to par with the OEM parts. The hood insulation/baffle is ridiculously thin, the included pins to secure it didn't hold up. The wiper nozzles are not standard Jeep hood size, and they each broke within a few days of each other, few weeks after the hood was put on my jeep. Finding replacement nozzles has been hit or miss since it isn't the same standard size hole in the OEM hood. Not long after mounting I started seeing rust pop up in the inner seams, and corners. Couple months later after it rains I have rust drips down my front side body panels. I know it was properly primed before painting. Almost wish I had had my stock hood repaired after a 8 lbs leaf spring from a trailer in front of me, bounced down the highway, across my hood, and thru my windshield, rather than replaced with this rust plagued aftermarket.
