Nice heavy duty bumper. It isn’t the easiest to open and close. I used one of my existing tire bumpers and shimmed it out some to keep pressure and prevent any rattling which seemed to work pretty well. The flip side is that it puts pressure on the latch and makes it a bit of a bear to get free.

Really not happy with this bumper. Some evidence of sloppy work like the two of the four outside bolts that are supposed to line up with existing holes, don’t, requiring for you to drill them larger than they should be. They include templates with other bumpers but don’t with this one, requiring you to temporarily mount the bumper, mark the four other holes that need to be drilled, remove the bumper, drill, and then remount.

Little things like their smittybilt placard arrived missing a rivet show that absolutely no one QCs it before boxing it up.

The bumper and tire carrier look nice enough that it would be easy enough to forgive the above, but if you have a hard top on your Jeep, you won’t be able to latch the tire carrier shut because it hits the handle of the hard top.

There’s absolutely nothing posted online or in the paper instructions I received that would indicate that this could be a problem, and it only become obvious that you are not going to be able to clear the handle once it’s fully installed.

This is my first, and last Smittybilt product.
