Reviews for Corbeau Sport Seat Pair for 76-18 Jeep CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler, Wrangler YJ, TJ, JK & Unlimited
good seats, sit slightly higher than the OEM ones. I do find that the added height makes for more comfort.
Extremely great quality seats from top to bottom. Only issues were with the recommended Corbeau seat brackets for my jeep.
Excellent fit for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I also purchased the Corbeau brackets and they dropped right in. Seat does sit slightly higher initially, but have settled a bit after a few weeks. I think the old one was so crappy that the new seats are actually normal height, but feel higher.
These seats are nice, and install was straightforward in my '89 Wrangler. HOWEVER, these seats will work fine for me only because I had previously lowered my seat frame by 1" in the rear and 1 1/2" in front. Had I not, they would be seriously too tall (for me). In addition, these seats have a multitude of mounting points, and those designed for the YJ are the furthest rearwards. That means that the seat is pushed forward on the sliders. In their full rearward position that are just about right for me. Were I any taller (5'10") or longer legs, they would flat suck. As it is, I may dive in and see if I can alter them to move further rearward. They sit comfortably, but because I'm still working on the drivetrain, I have not had a chance to road test them.
Excellent seats. Firm and well made. Remember these are sport seats and not long haul or touring seats. The lumbar seat is low in the back which pushes your lower back forward and leaves your upper back unsupported. Thankfully the head rests make up the gap. It takes some body and seat adjusting to find a comfortable spot but eventually you will find it. Seat sits noticeably higher off the floor than factory seat which means your head is much closer to ceiling.
they feel great ,
as another reviewer stated, I looked back and forth at the color examples that Corbeau version of "spice" is actually tan to most people, I wanted tan so I ordered spice, and sure enough I got the color I wanted, even though it took over a month to get them.
They appear to be very nice seats, as stated my 91 YJ sliders bolted right up and first thing this morning I installed the driver side, "they sit taller" is an understatement, my YJ does not have an adjustable steering column and as it sets right now I will not be able to drive with these seats installed, my legs barely fit under the wheel, I will have to find shorter or modify the seats stands to get them near stock height, or I may have to see about returning them, so far only the driver seat is out of the shipping plastic.
If you have a YJ without adjustable steering column, I would not recommend these seats with out custom or modified seat stands.
Ordered 'spice', but the seats are 'tan'. From what I can gather, it looks like Corbeau's 'tan' is actually what everyone else calls 'spice' and their 'spice' is actually 'tan'. Now my center console and side panels don't match. Seats themselves are great, but I'm stuck with a color I don't want and will probably end up replacing them in the future.
These seats and the recommended brackets work great for about a year if its going in your daily driver. The install is a little tricky when having to remove the factory airbag sensor in the passenger seat and modifying the passenger seat belt clip in a JK/JKU that won't fit without some help. They don't provide any instructions about how to handle this but I solved it by sawing the sort of knob off of the passenger clip and just cutting the sensor and tying the wiring up under the seat bracket.
Now for the reason I came here. I had to replace my seats because my passenger seat stirophoam was collapsing, like it does with many JKUs. These both sat firm and high and were nice for a little over a year until the vinyl on my driver seat started folding. I thought nothing of it, as the foam didn't seem to be collapsing until I just got under the seat to clean and found crumbled foam all in my floorboard. Rebuild your stock seats if you can, pay more or salvage some. These aren't good for the 10 years or more I got out of the stock seats.
