Reviews for Rampage Products Locking Trail Can Utility Tool Box
Very sturdy, exactly as advertised
I love these. I've even purchased these as gifts for folks.
looks and works great but has become garage storage vs. on board storage
Agree with most reviews that it is well build and handy. It will absolutely rust out if it is mounted on the outside of your vehicle. I have has mine less than a year and the hinge is almost rusted to the point of not allowing the box to open. they need to make a weather cover for it.
I’ve had this for about 3.5 yrs. It’s not really designed for long term outdoor usage. Mine is mounted on the from side, just in from to the door. It’s basically falling apart from rust. The lock has completely rusted tight and is unusable. BUT it is very handy. I keep all my winch and towing paraphernalia in it. I will probably go ahead and buy another just because it’s so handy.
Was quite disappointed when this arrived. Ordering from quadratec in the past, the items come in a box labeled by the company. This time around my boyfriend drove up and knew exactly what his birthday gift was since it was sent in a box with the picture on the front. I thought I’d have a buffer since it was supposed to come during the week but it arrived late during the weekend when he was present. So, if this is a gift try and time it for when they wont be home as best as possible.
I should've read the reviews... doesn't fit in a normal Gerry can holder. Not sure how to rig it so it doesn't move. I'm not as worried about rust as I live in the desert. I just wish it fit in the holder.
First I'll say that its well built as others have mentioned and looks really sharp. My disappointment is that it doesn't fit on the standard jerry can mount. Standard Jerry cans are 13.5" in length and this one is 13 3/4" in length. Bummer.
Ordered two. The first one the lock broke while trying to use the lock. They do not fit in the place of an actual fuel can.
Lock mechanism came out already and has hole in opening.
