After one of the factory rubber hood latches broke while driving the speed limit on a gusty windy day, I decided to order something more solid. These Rugged Ridge Hood Catches are awesome and the actual install went smoothly. I did reuse the Jeep factory nut/washers because they were better than the ones provided. One thing I will share is that removing the bottom section of the original factory hood latches could only be accomplished using a 13mm socket on a swivel joint. I am extremely happy with the new install and the beefier hood latches. Bring on the wind gusts!!!

Awesome latches but is a difficult fit if you have bushwacker pocket style fender flares. I can not fold the latch all the way back and it interferes with raising the hood.

Rugged, longer lasting, stylish. Make sure you have extensions, pivot bits, good hands and patience.

Works flawlessly. Just be careful the first time you use it. You may have to press the hood down to release the latch. If you are not careful, you can snap off the plastic clip if you force it.

Jam up product, easy to put on, look sharp and hold way better than the factory rubber bands.

I’d recommend these to anyone that has experienced the hood flutter. They have eliminated all flutter and are well made. I do wish the plastic release tabs were metal too.

Work great 20-30 minute install. The grill does not need to be removed to access the fender mount bolt. My hood doesn't even twitch at 70mph. The Allen head bolts weren't exactly metric or ase for the cross bolt but I got it plenty tight. That is my only very small complaint.

After experiencing a severe thunderstorm while traveling through Eastern Colorado in late July of 2017 and some extreme conditions surrounded by semis on Interstate 40 in Tennessee in August of 2017, the hood flutter we witnessed was concerning. My wife demanded that it be corrected. Ordered these on 9/24/2017. Installed on a 2017 JK Unlimited Rubicon and the hood flutter which scared the daylights out of my wife has been put to rest. This is the most efficient upgrade we've made to our Jeep. Hood flutter is gone!
