Reviews for QuadraTop Bimini Top Plus, Clearview Windstopper & Tonno Cover Combo in Black Diamond for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door
Great price, quality, and fit!
Great top for the price.
First thing I will say is this is not an alternative for a full soft top. If you don't like getting wet or your seats getting a bit wet, then this is not the top for you. It does not seal near the doors and if you leave it out during a rain storm, you are going to have 3 inches of water pooled above your head when you get back in your Jeep (I usually throw it in reverse and hit the brakes... just make sure no one is sitting in the back seat of an Unlimited or they will get soaked. Ha.) I have a hard top and that comes off for 4 months and this is what I use in the interim. It is easy on and easy off, takes about 2-3 minutes to remove once you get the hang of it, and maybe a few extra minutes to get it on. I leave the back cover on full time during the summer and just place the bimini top on when I know it is going to rain. I throw the windscreen on when I know it is going to be raining hard or if its a bit nippy out on the shoulder months while driving. I also feel it is a must to pull your drain plugs if you are going to be using this top, just to assist with any standing water. I have read all of the other reviews and agree that the instructions aren't great. As far as sturdiness, this top holds up at 80MPH on the highway and my straps and the material are just fine with no sign of tearing or issues after almost a year of use.
The two negatives I have about this top is first... it is noisy when driving down the highway. I don't mean "road noise" noisy, I mean the "material slapping on the top of the speaker bar" noisy. My solution is I carry a small hand towel in the jeep and roll it up and slide it between the speaker bar and the top to taut up the material. This helps immensely. Second... the middle of the top is tightened to the body of the Jeep between the front and back seats of the Unlimited with a nylon strap. It is tightened around the painted portion of your exterior. It has a tendency to rub and can cause some blemishing or potentially small scratches. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of.
Overall, this top has a real cool look (either as a whole or just with the back cover and top cover on and without the windscreen) and top goes on quickly and stores easily in the back when not in use.
The product is great. Like everyone else, I found the instructions to be nearly useless. I would like to suggest youtube video installation. An installation video, not a sales promo with 30 seconds of cut video showing an overview.
I will say again the product is great. The windscreen and tonneau cover are easier to install so don't get frustrated on the first step of installing the bimini. Keep futzing with the straps and tugging on the bimini until you get it pretty tight. Then move on.
Love the look of this top, once you figure out the way to install it, easy on and off, 4 stars because the instructions are not the best, and water during light rain gets into driver and passenger seats from the seam where it straps to the roll bar, dont buy hand grips to enter vehicle if they strap around your roll bar, i have to remove mine when i want to use the soft top now.
This is a great package that includes the Bimini top, windshield channel, windjammer rear window and rear tonneau cover with tailgate bar. Installation is easy and straight forward. I didn't give it 5 starts for a couple reasons. 1. The Bimini top does not pull completely tight due to the location on the straps and where they wrap around the roll bars. This causes loud flapping at high speeds right above the sound bar. 2. The windjammer rear window needs to be about 4 inches higher. It connects to the tonneau cover which leaves part of the window below the rear seats (where it's not needed), while the fabric strip at the top of the window is directly in your line of sight through the rearview mirror. This also leaves about a 2 inch gap between the windjammer and the Bimini top where rain will come in on the rear seats. If they lengthened the window by another 4 inches and allowed it to wrap up over the rear rollbar, and under the Bimini top it would be perfect,
directions are horrible. the top itself is fine it fits well and does a nice job.
good
Instructions were not helpful, either need more step by step pictures or an actual youtube video of full installations. I really wish there was less of a gap between rear door and wind stopper. They should really make the win stopper a bit wider or maybe have removable piece to put on either side for when it rains. There is also gaps between top and doors where rain could just run right inside and it is saggy above the front doors. Aside from that I’m really hoping it was worth the hours it took me to install it. I love the look of it and hope it works out ok.
put the top on, not looking like photo, its not a tight fit on top of jeep, its secured, but very saggy
