Reviews for ARB 170112 Differential Breather Kit for Dana Style Axles
This kit worked great on my 1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ with 5 inch lift. I was able to do both axles and the transmission and transfer case and had about 6 feet of tube left over. I did use two MaacFlow stainless 3/8 to 5/16 barbed adapters (for trans and transfer case) and one 3/8 to 5/16 - 90 degree elbow for the front differential just to make the line route smoother away from exhaust. I also used some 5/16 id heat shielding with fiberglass to protect the plastic hose from any heat sources like where it lays on the transmission and near the exhaust. The rear axle was able to use the stock barbed fitting and some safety wire to clamp it down. Use a heat gun to warm the plastic tube and then push it on the other barbed fittings. Super easy to do and gets the breathers up high and dry
This is a very high quality kit, but is not made for a specific application. That said, you have to make sure you have the additional fittings you need. The ARB kit uses 1/8" male BSP fittings, so the guy that said it "Warning! this doesn't fit dana 44 axles!" is only partially right. This is meant to be a line and breather kit, not a complete solution. You need to convert your axle fittings to work with the BSP threaded fittings. If you do that, this is a great way to have all your breathers terminate in the same place, with easy to use push lock fittings.
High quality parts and overall product.
Not a fan at all. This is obviously very high quality but not vehicle specific. If you have a Jeep and are expecting a plug and play because it said it would fit, then you are about to be very disappointed. You are going to have to put more time and money into it than it’s worth. Just do yourself a favor, buy some tube and extend them yourself.
Warning! Does NOT fit Dana 44 axles. The fittings are too small. Plus, the hose is a smaller diameter, thus you can’t even use it to extend your existing hoses. The most expensive pack of zip ties you will ever buy...since that’s the only thing you will actually be able to use. I had to create an account just to warn you. You can thank me later.
