Reviews for Quadratec 4pc Window Visors for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited
i would have given a 5 as they work great. but I have to take a star away due to the directions to install. it came with pictures but I think a worded description would help greatly. When I installed the first front one it cracked in the corner during install and the bottom cut the rubber around the window. through that experience the 2nd one went in perfect as I bent it much much more slowly and placed a thin rag underneath to stop it from slicing the rubber.
so adding wording to bend it in place EXTREMELY slow and place a very thin rag (or something) over the rubber would have stopped anything bad from happening.
but other then that. the back ones went in easy and they do there job
Great to be able to let the heat escape in the summer sun without rain getting in. Only problem I have is the two rear visors obstruct the windows from going up all the way. Have to push the visor out a little when putting the window up making sure to get your hand out of the way (electric windows). Hopefully the visors will settle in with direct sunlight. Very easy to install. Took less than 10 minutes.
Drivers window was a very tight fit. Took me 3 tries to get it in and it sliced the window gasket slightly and cracked at the top in the process. That was the last one i had to install. The first 3 went in easy. Also, in channel does not mean tapeless.
A little difficult installing but fit 4dr ' 17 Rubicon. Great item for the price
Good and...not bad, but I am concerned a bit. The visors look great, work great on rainy days, and the installation wasn't bad at all. My concern is the strain they puts on the electric windows when I close them. It almost sounds like the window is not going to close, or the motor is going to quit. Is this normal and something I should not be concerned about? I don't know.
Well, short story is I waited too long (2 years sitting in garage in original unopened package) to open and install and found that these looked like a return item. These were for a JKU and 2 had scratches on them and the passenger front was completely broken into two pieces. If I knew I had to quality assure this before getting around to installing them, I would've done so. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it's passed the notify company with purchase issue so I'm chalking this up to a lesson learned. I went ahead and installed the 3 that were still intact even the scratched ones. After all, it's a Jeep and I'm pretty sure they'll get scratched anyway on the trail. However, sucks for passenger and wanting fresh outside in harsh precipitation. All and all, the product was an easy install but I have learned to at least open boxes and do a QA inspection when they arrive now from Quadratec. Happy Trails Fellow Jeep Owners!
I should have read the reviews before purchase. I had the exact set on my 2016 wrangler unlimited. Removed the old ones due to fading. Watched the installation video several times. Left the visors in the sun to bend easier. Both front visors are about a millimeter or 2 too long. At the point of installing the last millimeter, both front visors cracked in the corner. Upon looking at the old ones, they were also cracked in the same spot, so this is nothing new. My old ones are about 8 years old. Maybe an engineer should shorten the 2 front visors a speck. They would still fit fine, and no one would crack them. Something to think about if you’re interested in quality control.
Just received my second set of these. The first set I broke the front passenger side trying to put it in. The directions in the box show to start on the top corner of the window but the video on Quadratec’s web page the tech starts in the lower front corner of the window which worked way better on the second set. Problem now is the new one I put in, I can hardly get the window up unless I push out on the front corner of the vent visor when I’m rolling it up and then it’s very slow going up. I’ll give it a day or two to see if it sets in and works better after it adheres.
easy to install them , the issue i faced that driver and driver side window wouldn't roll up ,
ill start this with the fact i bought these to replace a set of outside sticking rain guards that has tape that failed.. i really wanted to like these inchannels for the price but was disappointed when they arrived and i installed them. first complaint is the tape they used. it was really narrow and was miserable to peel because it wasn’t one long piece. there was two long runs then the corners were pieced together 3/4” long bits that were a pita to peel. when installing they had almost no flexibility and this caused one of the fronts to crack when i was trying to get it in and yes i installed them like the photo in instructions said and then after i got them all in i found out that the tape didn’t wanna adhere right even though i cleaned all the tracks out first and this caused my windows to now stop because there is no taper where the window contacts just a blunt edge so it wont go past unless i push on the rain guard then finish rolling up the windows. i do like the finished visual product and they do work to keep rain out as intended but everything else puts me on a note of never getting the cheapies or recommending them and just telling anyone to spend the extra money and get a better quality set if you want in channels.
