Reviews for Teraflex Heavy Duty Ball Joint Set for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK
Best quality ball joints. I have installed Moog HD and Teraflex HD. Teraflex is far superior product.
They appear heavy duty and hopefully will last a lot longer than the stock ones.
Made a big difference and way better then the stock ones that were on my rig
Very happy with the purchase!
Upgraded my 2015 JKU to 35" tires on a 3.25" Rough Country lift. I was experiencing some wobble and added the Rough Country dual steering stabilizer. It helped, but I was still feeling some wobble at high speeds. I added these ball joints and they definitely did the trick. Solid construction, good product.
Work well, good fit and finish.
Needed to upgrade and went with these Teraflex Heavy Duty Ball joints....very happy with the product, install instructions, etc. Definitely the way to go!
Works and along with other parts, got rid of the death wobble!
First timer DIY install tips:
This can be done on jacks with hand tools in the rust belt. I did it
The ball joint press from Harbor Freight AND adapter kit has every thing you need for pressing. I tend to turn my nose up at Harbor Freight but the kits were of sufficient quality to handle the job.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO ANY GRINDING of your axles with the updated design of the lower ball joints (the update has two zerks on the lower ball joint).
BEFORE YOU START, make sure you have a socket to fit over the lower ball joint castle nut. Every install video I watched called for a 15/16 socket on the lower but mine came with 1-1/8 from the factory. Thankfully I checked before starting because I had to run out and buy a 1-1/8.
After you finish, this is the time to retorque all you your steering and suspension bolts. Even though you are tired and sick of it, just do it
Two complaints:
The zerk fittings are weak! Be gentle with them. I snapped one with such ease it had to be a defect.
The cotter pins are the flimsiest I've ever seen. Not a huge deal but come'on Teraflex...
One year after installation and these ball joints appear just as tight as when new. Let's hope I didn't just jinx myself and they keep going strong. Very happy with them so far.
