Reviews for Rugged Ridge Perforated Grille Screen for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK

Only buy this if you plan on Jimmy Rigging it to your grill. The provided hardware installs onto the grill, but the grill will not install back onto the front end once the hardware is mounted. The hardware creates a lip on the upper side of the grill that makes it impossible to slide back into place. I ditched the install hardware altogether and drilled holes just big enough for some zip ties, got some black heavy duty ties and use 4 of them. Cruised 80 down the highway with no problems. The insert is nice, but only 2 stars because there's no way this was thought all the way through in the design process.

Poorly designed product, I had to modify the mounting system to allow my grill to go back on. They mount the grill screen to the grill by drilling holes and using a bolt and nut, but the bolt and nut stick out WAY TOO MUCH on the top two mounts because it didn't allow me to put my grill back on. The plastic pieces that mount the grill are not very strong, and it was bending the grill. I had to forgo the top two mounts and just use the bottom two, which are not in the way of anything. Therefore, when I take my grill off, the screen is loose, but when I put the grill on, the screen is moderately tight. I will probably reinforce this somehow with zip ties or the like. I will still use it because it gives the front a much cleaner look, but its a poorly designed mounting system. The screen itself is high quality and fits to the grill very nicely, so I gave it 2 stars for that.

Really disappointed in this product by Rugged Ridge from quadratec. I’ve had this on my Jeep for at most only a year and a half and I noticed it has started to rust and bleed onto the paint leaving rust stains on my white Jeep. Looked good initially but not happy long term with the quality.

Terrible.
